The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3104
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by me while I was playing with some children. I went and hid behind a door. Before I knew it, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had caught me. He grabbed me gently by the back of my neck and made me sit on the ground. Then he told me to go and call Sayyidina Amir Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was his scribe. I ran to him and said, "Come with me, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has some work for you."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کا ایک مرتبہ میرے قریب سے گزر ہوا، میں اس وقت بچوں کے ساتھ کھیل رہا تھا، میں ایک دروازے کے پیچھے جا کر چھپ گیا، مجھے پتہ ہی نہیں چلا کہ نبی ﷺ نے مجھے پکڑ لیا اور مجھے گدی سے پکڑ کر پیار سے زمین پر پچھاڑ دیا، پھر مجھے سیدنا امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس انہیں بلانے کے لئے بھیج دیا، وہ نبی ﷺ کے کاتب تھے، میں دوڑتا ہوا ان کے پاس گیا اور ان سے کہا کہ نبی ﷺ کے پاس چلیے، انہیں آپ سے ایک کام ہے۔
Saina Ibne Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka aik martaba mere qareeb se guzar hua, mein us waqt bachon ke sath khel raha tha, mein aik darwaze ke peeche ja kar chhup gaya, mujhe pata hi nahi chala keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe pakad liya aur mujhe gaddi se pakar kar pyar se zameen par pichhar diya, phir mujhe Saidna Ameer Muawiya Raziallahu Anhu ke pass inhen bulane ke liye bhej diya, woh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke katib thay, mein dorta hua unke pass gaya aur unse kaha keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pass chaliye, inhen aapse aik kaam hai.
حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى أَبُو بِشْرٍ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ: كُنْتُ غُلَامًا أَسْعَى مَعَ الْغِلْمَانِ، فَالْتَفَتُّ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِنَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَلْفِي مُقْبِلًا، فَقُلْتُ: مَا جَاءَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا إِلَيَّ، قَالَ: فَسَعَيْتُ حَتَّى أَخْتَبِئَ وَرَاءَ بَابِ دَارٍ، قَالَ: فَلَمْ أَشْعُرْ حَتَّى تَنَاوَلَنِي، فَأَخَذَ بِقَفَايَ، فَحَطَأَنِي حَطْأَةً، فَقَالَ:" اذْهَبْ فَادْعُ لِي مُعَاوِيَةَ" قَالَ: وَكَانَ كَاتِبَهُ، فَسَعَيْتُ فَأَتَيْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، فَقُلْتُ: أَجِبْ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَإِنَّهُ عَلَى حَاجَةٍ.
