The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3165
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about the children of the polytheists. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Allah knows best - He Who created them - what they will do when they grow up."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ سے مشرکین کی اولاد کے بارے پوچھا گیا تو نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ بہتر جانتا ہے - جس نے انہیں پیدا کیا ہے - کہ وہ بڑے ہو کر کیا عمل کرتے؟“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se mushrikeen ki aulad ke baare pucha gaya to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Allah Ta’ala behtar janta hai - jisne unhen peda kiya hai - ki woh bare ho kar kya amal karte?”.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ أَوْلَادِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ؟ فَقَالَ:" اللَّهُ إِذْ خَلَقَهُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ".
