The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3285
Ata ibn Abi Rabah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that once, Abdullah ibn Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) led the Maghrib prayer and ended it after two rak'ahs. He then stood up to touch the Black Stone, but the people behind him exclaimed, "SubhanAllah!" Upon hearing this, he asked, "What is the matter?" (He then realized his mistake and returned to lead) the remaining prayer and performed the two prostrations of forgetfulness at the end. When this was mentioned to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he remarked that (Abdullah ibn Zubayr) did not oppose the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

عطاء بن ابی رباح رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے مغرب کی نماز پڑھائی تو دو رکعتوں پر ہی سلام پھیر دیا اور حجر اسود کا استلام کرنے کے لئے کھڑے ہو گئے، لوگوں نے پیچھے سے سبحان اللہ کہا تو وہ کہنے لگے کہ تمہیں کیا ہوا؟ (پھر خود ہی سمجھ گئے اور واپس آ کر) بقیہ نماز پڑھا دی اور آخر میں سہو کے دو سجدے کر لئے، سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے سامنے جب اس کا تذکرہ ہوا تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ انہوں نے نبی ﷺ سے روگردانی نہیں کی۔
Ata bin Abi Rabah rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke ek martaba Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair razi Allah anhu ne Maghrib ki namaz parhai to do rakaton per hi salaam pher diya aur Hajar Aswad ka istalaam karne ke liye khare ho gaye, logon ne peeche se Subhan Allah kaha to woh kehne lage ke tumhein kya hua? (phir khud hi samajh gaye aur wapas aa kar) baqaya namaz parha di aur akhir mein sahu ke do sajde kar liye, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas razi Allah anhuma ke samne jab iska tazkira hua to unhon ne farmaya ke unhon ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se rogardani nahi ki.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ مَطَرٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ، فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَنَهَضَ لِيَسْتَلِمَ الْحَجَرَ، فَسَبَّحَ الْقَوْمُ، فَقَالَ: مَا شَأْنُكُمْ؟، قَالَ: فَصَلَّى مَا بَقِيَ، وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ، قَالَ: فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَقَالَ: مَا أَمَاطَ عَنْ سُنَّةِ نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
