The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3311
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that at the place of Hudaybiyyah, some people got their heads shaved and some got their hair trimmed. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "O Allah! Forgive those who got their heads shaved." A man said, "Pray for those who got their hair trimmed as well." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed for those who got their hair trimmed a third or fourth time, saying, "O Allah! Forgive those who got their hair trimmed as well." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is it about those who got their heads shaved that you are showing them so much compassion?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "These people were not afflicted with doubt." Saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned back.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ حدیبیہ کے مقام پر کچھ لوگوں نے حلق کروایا اور کچھ نے قصر، تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”اے اللہ! حلق کرانے والوں کو معاف فرما دے“، ایک صاحب نے عرض کیا: قصر کرانے والوں کے لئے بھی تو دعا فرمائیے، نبی ﷺ نے تیسری یا چوتھی مرتبہ قصر کرانے والوں کے لئے فرمایا کہ ”اے اللہ! قصر کرانے والوں کو بھی معاف فرما دے“، صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم نے پوچھا: یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! حلق کرانے والوں میں ایسی کون سی بات ہے کہ آپ ان پر اتنی شفقت فرما رہے ہیں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”یہ لوگ شک میں نہیں پڑے ہیں“، یہ کہہ کر نبی ﷺ واپس چلے گئے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Hudaibiya ke muqam par kuch logon ne halq karvaya aur kuch ne qasar, to Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: “Aye Allah! Halq karwane walon ko maaf farma de”, ek sahab ne arz kiya: Qasar karwane walon ke liye bhi to dua farmaie, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne teesri ya chauthi martaba qasar karwane walon ke liye farmaya ki “Aye Allah! Qasar karwane walon ko bhi maaf farma de”, Sahaba (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne pucha: Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)! Halq karwane walon mein aisi kon si baat hai ki aap un par itni shifqat farma rahe hain? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Ye log shak mein nahin pade hain”, yeh keh kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) wapas chale gaye.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قَالَ: قَالَ: مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: حَلَقَ رِجَالٌ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ، وَقَصَّرَ آخَرُونَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ". قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ:" يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ"، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ:" يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ"، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ:" وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ" قَالُوا: فَمَا بَالُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ظَاهَرْتَ لَهُمْ الترحُّمَ؟ قَالَ:" لَمْ يَشُكُّوا" قَالَ: فَانْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
