The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3417
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Sayyiduna Sa'b bin Jaththama (may Allah be pleased with him) presented a donkey's leg to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned it to him, saying, "We are in the state of Ihram. Had we not been in the state of Ihram, we would have accepted it from you."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا صعب بن جثامہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں ایک حمار کی ٹانگ پیش کی، لیکن نبی ﷺ نے اسے واپس کرتے ہوئے فرمایا: ”ہم محرم ہیں، اگر ہم محرم نہ ہوتے تو اسے تم سے قبول کر لیتے۔“
Sayyidaana Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba Sayyidaana Saab bin Jussama (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein ek humaar ki taang pesh ki, lekin Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne usey wapas karte huye farmaya: Hum muhrim hain, agar hum muhrim na hote to usey tum se qubool kar lete.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: أَهْدَى الصَّعْبُ بْنُ جَثَّامَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ، فَرَدَّهُ، وَقَالَ:" لَوْلَا أَنَّا مُحْرِمُونَ، لَقَبِلْنَاهُ مِنْكَ".
