The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3472
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by a graveyard which was situated on this very road (Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, pointed with his hand towards the back of a sand dune) and said, "This is the best of graveyards." I asked the person who told me this, did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) specify any particular corner of it? But he could not tell me which place the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had specified, except that he kept pointing with his hand, but we used to hear that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had specified that part which was in front of the Ka'bah. Benefit: Apparently, the graveyard being referred to is Jannat al-Mu'alla.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ کا گزر ایک مقبرہ پر ہوا جو اس پہلے راستے پر واقع تھا (سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے ہاتھ سے ریت کے تودے کے پیچھے کی طرف اشارے سے فرمایا) اور فرمایا کہ ”یہ بہترین قبرستان ہے“، میں نے اس شخص سے پوچھا جنہوں نے مجھے یہ بات بتائی کہ کیا نبی ﷺ نے اس کے کسی گوشے کی تخصیص فرمائی تھی؟ لیکن وہ مجھے یہ نہ بتا سکے کہ نبی ﷺ نے کس جگہ کو خاص کیا تھا، سوائے اس کے کہ وہ ہاتھ سے اشارہ کرتے رہے، لیکن ہم یہ بات سنتے تھے کہ نبی ﷺ نے اس حصے کو خاص کیا جو بیت اللہ کے سامنے تھا۔ فائدہ: بظاہر اس قبرستان سے مراد جنت المعلی ہے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka guzar ek maqbara par hua jo us pehle raste par waqay tha (Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne hath se ret ke tode ke peeche ki taraf ishare se farmaya) aur farmaya ki "ye behtarin qabristan hai", maine us shakhs se poocha jinhone mujhe ye baat batai ki kya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne us ke kisi goshe ki takhsees farmaai thi? Lekin wo mujhe ye na bata sake ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kis jagah ko khas kiya tha, siwaye is ke ki wo hath se ishara karte rahe, lekin hum ye baat sunte the ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne us hisse ko khas kiya jo Baitullah ke samne tha. Faida: Bazahir is qabristan se murad Jannat ul Mu'alla hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي خِدَاشٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: لَمَّا أَشْرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمَقْبُرَةِ، وَهِيَ عَلَى طَرِيقِهِ الْأُولَى، أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ وَرَاءَ الضَّفِيرِ أَوْ قَالَ: وَرَاءَ الضَّفِيرَةِ، شَكَّ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، فَقَالَ:" نِعْمَ الْمَقْبُرَةُ هَذِهِ". فَقُلْتُ لِلَّذِي أَخْبَرَنِي: أَخَصَّ الشِّعْبَ؟ قَالَ: هَكَذَا قَالَ، فَلَمْ يُخْبِرْنِي أَنَّهُ خَصَّ شَيْئًا إِلَّا لَذَلِكَ، أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ وَرَاءَ الضَّفِيرَةِ أَوْ الضَّفِيرِ، وَكُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَصَّ الشِّعْبَ الْمُقَابِلَ لِلْبَيْتِ.
