Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4453
Once, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was passing by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was narrating this hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Whoever attends a funeral procession and offers the funeral prayer will get a reward equal to one Qirat, and if he also attends the burial, he will get a reward equal to two Qirats, each Qirat being as big as Mount Uhud." Hearing this, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Abu Hurairah! Be careful what you narrate from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and took him to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said, "O Mother of the Believers! I ask you by Allah, did you hear the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that whoever attends a funeral procession and offers the funeral prayer will get a reward equal to one Qirat, and if he also attends the burial, he will get a reward equal to two Qirats?" She said, "By Allah! Yes." Then Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Planting date-palm trees or engaging in business in the markets would not prevent me from being in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) (because I never did these things). I used to seek two things from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): One was the knowledge that you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon you) used to teach me, and the other was the morsel of food that you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon you) used to feed me." Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Abu Hurairah, you used to stick closer to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) than us and you are more knowledgeable about his hadith than us."

ایک مرتبہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کا سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس سے گزر ہوا، اس وقت وہ نبی ﷺ کی یہ حدیث بیان کر رہے تھے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”جو شخص جنازے کے ساتھ جائے اور نماز جنازہ پڑھے اسے ایک قیراط کے برابر ثواب ملے گا اور اگر وہ دفن کے موقع پر بھی شریک رہا تو اسے دو قیراط کے برابر ثواب ملے گا جن میں سے ہر قیراط جبل احد سے بڑا ہو گا۔“ یہ سن کر سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہنے لگے، ابوہریرہ! غور کر لیجئے کہ آپ نبی ﷺ کے حوالے سے کیا بیان کر رہے ہیں، اس پر سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور انہیں لے کر سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس پہنچے اور ان سے عرض کیا: اے ام المومنین! میں آپ کو اللہ کی قسم دے کر پوچھتا ہوں کہ آپ نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ جو شخص جنازے کے ساتھ جائے اور نماز جنازہ پڑھے اسے ایک قیراط کے برابر ثواب ملے گا اور اگر وہ دفن کے موقع پر بھی شریک رہا تو اسے دو قیراط کے برابر ثواب ملے گا؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: ”بخدا! ہاں۔ اس کے بعد سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: کھجور کے پودے گاڑنا یا بازاروں میں معاملات کرنا مجھے نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر نہ ہونے کا سبب نہیں بنتا تھا (کیونکہ میں یہ کام کر تا ہی نہیں تھا) میں تو نبی ﷺ سے دو چیزوں کو طلب کیا کرتا تھا ایک وہ بات جو آپ ﷺ مجھے سکھاتے تھے اور دوسرا وہ لقمہ جو آپ ﷺ مجھے کھلاتے تھے، سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما فرمانے لگے کہ ابوہریرہ ہم سے زیادہ آپ نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ چمٹے رہتے تھے اور ان کی حدیث کے ہم سے بڑے عالم ہیں۔
Ek martaba syedna Ibn Umar razi Allah anhuma ka syedna Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu ke pas se guzar hua, iss waqt woh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki yeh hadees bayaan kar rahe the ke Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Jo shakhs janaze ke sath jaye aur namaz janaza padhe usse ek qirat ke barabar sawab milega aur agar woh dafan ke mauqe par bhi sharik raha to usse do qirat ke barabar sawab milega jin mein se har qirat Jabal Uhud se bada hoga." Yeh sunkar syedna Ibn Umar razi Allah anhuma kehne lage, Abu Hurairah! Gौर kar lijiye ke aap Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hawale se kya bayaan kar rahe hain, iss par syedna Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu khade huye aur unhein lekar syeda Ayesha razi Allah anha ke pas pahunche aur unse arz kiya: Aye Ummul Momineen! Main aapko Allah ki qasam dekar poochta hun ke aapne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko yeh farmate huye suna hai ke jo shakhs janaze ke sath jaye aur namaz janaza padhe usse ek qirat ke barabar sawab milega aur agar woh dafan ke mauqe par bhi sharik raha to usse do qirat ke barabar sawab milega? Unhon ne farmaya: "Bakhuda! Haan." Isske baad syedna Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu ne farmaya: Khajoor ke paude gadna ya bazaron mein muamlaat karna mujhe Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir na hone ka sabab nahi banta tha (kyunki main yeh kaam karta hi nahi tha) main to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se do cheezon ko talab kiya karta tha ek woh baat jo aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mujhe sikhaate the aur dusra woh luqma jo aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mujhe khilate the, syedna Ibn Umar razi Allah anhuma farmane lage ke Abu Hurairah humse zyada aap Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath chamte rehte the aur unki hadees ke humse bade alim hain.
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُرَشِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّهُ مَرَّ بِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:" مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ، الْقِيرَاطُ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ أُحُدٍ"، فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، انْظُرْ مَا تُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، حَتَّى انْطَلَقَ بِهِ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ: ، فَقَالَ لَهَا: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أَنْشُدُكِ بِاللَّهِ، أَسَمِعْتِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:" مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ؟" فَقَالَتْ: اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَشْغَلُنِي عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَرْسُ الْوَدِيِّ، وَلَا صَفْقٌ بِالْأَسْوَاقِ، إِنِّي إِنَّمَا كُنْتُ أَطْلُبُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَلِمَةً يُعَلِّمُنِيهَا، وَأُكْلَةً يُطْعِمُنِيهَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: أَنْتَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كُنْتَ أَلْزَمَنَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَأَعْلَمَنَا بِحَدِيثِهِ.
