Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4468
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would place his riding animal in front of him as a sutrah and offer prayer.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ اپنی سواری کو سامنے رکھ کر اسے بطور سترہ آگے کر لیتے اور نماز پڑھ لیتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ" يُعَرِّضُ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ، وَيُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا".
