Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4482
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! What clothes can a Muhrim wear?" or he asked: "What clothes should a Muhrim avoid?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: "A Muhrim cannot wear a shirt, trousers, a turban, or socks unless he cannot find shoes. If a person cannot find shoes, he should cut his socks below the ankles and wear them. Similarly, he cannot wear a cap or any cloth on which there is Wars (a type of grass) or saffron."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے پوچھا: یا رسول اللہ!! محرم کون سا لباس پہن سکتا ہے؟ یا یہ پوچھا کہ محرم کون سا لباس ترک کر دے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ محرم قمیض، شلوار، عمامہ اور موزے نہیں پہن سکتا الاّ یہ کہ اسے جوتے نہ ملیں، جس شخص کو جوتے نہ ملیں اسے چاہئے کہ وہ موزوں کو ٹخنوں سے نیچے کاٹ کر پہن لے، اسی طرح ٹوپی یا ایسا کپڑا جس پر ورس نامی گھاس یا زعفران لگی ہوئی ہو، وہ بھی محرم نہیں پہن سکتا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek aadmi ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se pucha: Ya Rasul Allah!! Muharram kaun sa libas pehan sakta hai? Ya yeh pucha ki Muharram kaun sa libas tark kar de? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki Muharram qameez, shalwar, amama aur moze nahi pehan sakta illa yeh ki use jute na milen, jis shaks ko jute na milen use chahie ki woh mozon ko takhnon se niche kat kar pehan le, isi tarah topi ya aisa kapda jis par wars nami ghas ya zaffran lagi hui ho, woh bhi muharram nahi pehan sakta.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَا يَلْبَسُ الْمُحْرِمُ؟ أَوْ قَالَ: مَا يَتْرُكُ الْمُحْرِمُ؟ فَقَالَ:" لَا يَلْبَسُ الْقَمِيصَ، وَلَا السَّرَاوِيلَ، وَلَا الْعِمَامَةَ، وَلَا الْخُفَّيْنِ، إِلَّا أَنْ لَا يَجِدَ نَعْلَيْنِ، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ، وَلَا الْبُرْنُسَ، وَلَا شَيْئًا مِنَ الثِّيَابِ مَسَّهُ وَرْسٌ وَلَا زَعْفَرَانٌ".
