Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4484
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The seller and the buyer have the right to withdraw (from a sale) as long as they have not parted or it is a sale with the option to return the goods." Nafi' used to say: "Or one of them gives the other the option."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”بائع (بچنے والا) اور مشتری (خریدنے والا اور بیچنے والا) کو اس وقت تک اختیار رہتا ہے جب تک وہ جدا نہ ہو جائیں، یا یہ کہ وہ بیع خیار ہو۔“ نافع کبھی یوں بھی کہتے تھے یا یہ کہ ان دونوں میں سے ایک دوسرے سے کہہ دے کہ اختیار کر لو۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: "Bayi (bechne wala) aur mushtari (kharidne wala aur bechne wala) ko us waqt tak ikhtiyar rehta hai jab tak wo juda na ho jayen, ya ye ki wo bay khayar ho." Nafi kabhi yun bhi kahte the ya ye ki in dono me se ek dusre se keh de ki ikhtiyar kar lo.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَا، أَوْ يَكُونَ بَيْعَ خِيَارٍ"، قَالَ: وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ نَافِعٌ:" أَوْ يَقُولَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِلْآخَرِ: اخْتَرْ".
