Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4487
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) held a horse race. Among them, the horses that were lean were designated to race from "Hafya" to Thaniyat al-Wada', while those that were not lean raced from Thaniyat al-Wada' to Masjid Bani Zuraiq. At that time, I was beginning to ride horses, and I won that race. My horse brought me close to Masjid Bani Zuraiq.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے گھڑ دوڑ کا مقابلہ کروایا، ان میں سے جو گھوڑے چھریرے تھے انہیں ”حفیاء“ سے ثنیۃ الوداع تک مسابقت کے لئے مقرر فرمایا اور جو چھریرے بدن کے نہ تھے ان کی ریس ثنیۃ الوداع سے مسجد بنی زریق تک کروائی، میں اس وقت گھڑ سواری کرنے لگا تھا اور میں اس مقابلے میں جیت گیا تھا، مجھے میرے گھوڑے نے مسجد بنی زریق کے قریب کر دیا تھا۔
Saina Ibne Umar Radi Allaho Anhoma se marvi hai ki aik martaba Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne ghor daud ka muqabla karwaya, in mein se jo ghore chhrayray thay unhein “Hafiyaa” se Saniyat-ul-Wida tak musaabiqat ke liye muqarrar farmaya aur jo chhrayray badan ke na thay un ki race Saniyat-ul-Wida se Masjid-e-Bani-Zariq tak karwai, mein us waqt ghor sawari karne laga tha aur mein is muqablay mein jeet gaya tha, mujhe mere ghore ne Masjid-e-Bani-Zariq ke qareeb kar diya tha.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَال:" سَبَّقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ الْخَيْلِ، فَأَرْسَلَ مَا ضُمِّرَ مِنْهَا مِنَ الْحَفْيَاءِ أَوْ الحَيْفَاءِ إِلَى ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، وَأَرْسَلَ مَا لَمْ يُضَمَّرْ مِنْهَا مِنْ ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ"، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: فَكُنْتُ فَارِسًا يَوْمَئِذٍ، فَسَبَقْتُ النَّاسَ، طَفَّفَ بِيَ الْفَرَسُ مَسْجِدَ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ.
