Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4498
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a few Jews brought a man and a woman from among themselves "who had committed fornication" to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "What is the punishment for this in your book (Torah)?" They said, "We will blacken their faces and disgrace them." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "You are lying. The punishment for this in the Torah is stoning. Bring the Torah and read it to me if you are truthful." So they brought the Torah and also brought one of their blind readers "whose name was Ibn Suriyya". He started reading the Torah. When he reached the verse of stoning, he placed his hand over it. When he was asked to remove his hand and when he removed it, the verse of stoning was shining there. Seeing this, the Jews themselves started saying, "O Muhammad! The punishment of "stoning" is in it. We ourselves used to hide it among ourselves, anyway!" So, on the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), both of them were stoned to death. Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) states, "I saw that Jew bending over that woman to protect her from the stones."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ چند یہودی اپنے میں سے ایک مرد و عورت کو لے کر آئے ”جنہوں نے بدکاری کی تھی“، نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”تمہاری کتاب (تورات) میں اس کی کیا سزا درج ہے؟“ انہوں نے کہا: ہم ان کے چہرے کالے کر دیں گے اور انہیں ذلیل کیا جائے گا۔ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”تم جھوٹ بولتے ہو تورات میں اس کی سزا رجم بیان کی گئی ہے تم تورات لے کر آؤ اور مجھے پڑھ کر سناؤ اگر تم سچے ہو۔“ چنانچہ وہ تورات لے آئے اور ساتھ ہی اپنے ایک اندھے قاری کو ”جس کا نام ابن صوریا تھا“ بھی لے آئے، اس نے تورات پڑھنا شروع کی جب وہ آیت رجم پر پہنچا تو اس نے اس پر ہاتھ رکھ دیا، اسے جب ہاتھ ہٹانے کے لئے کہا گیا اور جب اس نے ہاتھ ہٹایا تو وہاں آیت رجم چمک رہی تھی، یہ دیکھ کروہ یہودی خود ہی کہنے لگے کہ اے محمد! اس میں ”رجم“ کا حکم ہے، ہم خود ہی اسے آپس میں چھپاتے تھے، بہرحال! نبی ﷺ کے حکم پر ان دونوں کو رجم کر دیا گیا۔ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے اس یہودی کو دیکھا کہ وہ عورت کو پتھروں سے بچانے کے لئے اس پر جھکا پڑتا تھا۔
Sayyeda Ibn e Umar Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai ki aik martaba chand Yahodi apne mein se aik mard o aurat ko lekar aye “jinhon ne badkari ki thi”, Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir huye, Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Tumhari kitab (Torah) mein iski kya saza darj hai?” Unhon ne kaha: Hum unke chehre kale kar denge aur unhein zaleel kiya jayega. Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Tum jhoot bolte ho Torah mein iski saza Rajam bayan ki gayi hai tum Torah lekar aao aur mujhe parh kar sunao agar tum sache ho.” Chunancha woh Torah le aaye aur sath hi apne aik andhe qari ko “jis ka naam Ibn e Soriya tha” bhi le aaye, usne Torah parhna shuru ki jab woh ayat Rajam par pahuncha to usne us par hath rakh diya, use jab hath hatane ke liye kaha gaya aur jab usne hath hataya to wahan ayat Rajam chamak rahi thi, yeh dekh kar woh Yahodi khud hi kahne lage ki aye Muhammad! Is mein “Rajam” ka hukum hai, hum khud hi ise aapas mein chhupate the, beherhaal! Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hukum par un donon ko Rajam kar diya gaya. Sayyeda Ibn e Umar Raziallahu Anhuma farmate hain ki maine is Yahodi ko dekha ki woh aurat ko pathron se bachane ke liye us par jhuka parta tha.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ أَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ وَامْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُمْ قَدْ زَنَيَا، فَقَالَ:" مَا تَجِدُونَ فِي كِتَابِكُمْ؟" فَقَالُوا: نُسَخِّمُ وُجُوهَهُمَا وَيُخْزَيَانِ!! فَقَالَ:" كَذَبْتُمْ، إِنَّ فِيهَا الرَّجْمَ، فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ، فَاتْلُوهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ"، فَجَاءُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ، وَجَاءُوا بِقَارِئٍ لَهُمْ أَعْوَرَ، يُقَالُ لَهُ: ابْنُ صُورِيَا، فَقَرَأَ حَتَّى إِذَا انْتَهَى إِلَى مَوْضِعٍ مِنْهَا وَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: ارْفَعْ يَدَكَ، فَرَفَعَ يَدَهُ، فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلُوحُ، فَقَالَ: أَوْ قَالُوا: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، إِنَّ فِيهَا الرَّجْمَ، وَلَكِنَّا كُنَّا نَتَكَاتَمُهُ بَيْنَنَا،" فَأَمَرَ بِهِمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَرُجِمَا"، قَالَ: فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ يُجَانِئُ عَلَيْهَا يَقِيهَ الْحِجَارَةَ بِنَفْسِهِ.
