The Musnad of Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them both)
مسنَد عَبدِ اللَّهِ بنِ عمَرَ بنِ الخَطَّابِ رَضِیَ اللَّه تَعَالَى عَنهمَا
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4577
Imam, may Allah have mercy on him, said, "I heard Sufyan saying that he had vowed to observe I'tikaf (spiritual retreat) in Masjid al-Haram. When he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about it, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered him to fulfill his vow." Someone asked Sufyan, "Is this narration narrated by Ayyub from Nafi' on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that Sayyidina Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had made this vow?" He replied, "Yes!"

امام رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے سفیان کو یہ کہتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ انہوں نے مسجد الحرام میں اعتکاف کر نے کی منت مانی تھی نبی کریم ﷺ سے اس کے متعلق پوچھا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس منت کو پورا کر نے کا حکم دیا کسی نے سفیان سے پوچھا کہ یہ روایت ایوب نے نافع سے سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے حوالے سے نقل کی ہے کہ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ منت مانی تھی؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا ہاں!۔
Imaam rehmatullah farmate hain keh maine Sufian ko yeh kehte huye suna hai keh unhon ne Masjid ul Haram mein aitkaf karne ki mannat maani thi Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se iske mutalliq pucha to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne is mannat ko poora karne ka hukm diya kisi ne Sufian se pucha keh yeh riwayat Ayub ne Nafi se Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke hawale se naqal ki hai keh Sayyidna Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne yeh mannat maani thi unhon ne jawab diya haan.
(حديث موقوف) سَمِعْت سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْت سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ: إِنَّهُ" نَذَرَ، يَعْنِي: أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ، فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَأَمَرَهُ" , قِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ: عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ:" أَنَّ عُمَرَ نَذَرَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ".
