Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4602
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the two Sheikhs (Abu Bakr and Umar - may Allah be pleased with them) used to offer the Eid prayer before the sermon.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ اور حضرات شیخین رضی اللہ عنہ عید کے موقع پر خطبہ سے پہلے نماز پڑھایا کرتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ كَانُوا" يَبْدَؤُونَ بِالصَّلَاةِ قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ فِي الْعِيدِ".
