Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4609
Narrated by Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): When Ghilaan bin Salamah Thaqafi accepted Islam, he had ten wives. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told him to choose four of them (and divorce the other six).

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ غیلان بن سلمہ ثقفی نے جس وقت اسلام قبول کیا ان کے نکاح میں دس بیویاں تھیں نبی کریم ﷺ نے ان سے فرمایا کہ ان میں سے چار کو منتخب کر لو (اور باقی چھ کو طلاق دے دو)۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Ghailan bin Salma Saqafi ne jis waqt Islam qubool kiya un ke nikah mein das biwiyan thin Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un se farmaya ki un mein se chaar ko muntakhib kar lo (aur baqi chhe ko talaq de do).
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ غَيْلَانَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ الثَّقَفِيَّ أَسْلَمَ وَتَحْتَهُ عَشْرُ نِسْوَةٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" اخْتَرْ مِنْهُنَّ أَرْبَعًا".
