Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4674
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to raise his hands up to his shoulders at the beginning of prayer. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would also raise his hands while going into bowing (ruku') and after rising from it. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say 'Sami Allahu liman Hamidah' (Allah hears those who praise Him) and then 'Rabbana wa lakal Hamd' (Our Lord, to You is all praise) but did not raise his hands between the two prostrations (sujud).

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نماز کے آغاز میں اپنے ہاتھ کندھوں کے برابر کر کے رفع یدین کرتے تھے، نیز رکوع میں جاتے وقت اور رکوع سے سر اٹھانے کے بعد بھی رفع یدین کرتے اور نبی کریم ﷺ سمع اللہ لمن حمدہ کہنے کے بعد ربنا و لک الحمد کہتے تھے، لیکن دو سجدوں کے درمیان نبی کریم ﷺ نے رفع یدین نہیں کیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz ke aaghaz mein apne hath kandhon ke barabar kar ke rafay yadain karte thay, neez ruku mein jatay waqt aur ruku se sar uthanay ke baad bhi rafay yadain karte aur Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Sami Allahu Liman Hamidah kehne ke baad Rabbana Wa Lakal Hamd kehte thay, lekin do sajdon ke darmiyan Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne rafay yadain nahin kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ، وَإِذَا رَكَعَ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ، صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، وَإِذَا قَالَ:" سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ"، قَالَ:" رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ"، وَلَا يَصْنَعُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ.
