Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4859
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Amongst the trees, there is a tree that is like a Muslim (tell me which tree is that?).” The people gave their opinions, I wanted to say that it was the date palm tree, but then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) himself said that it is the date palm tree.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”درختوں میں سے ایک درخت ایسا ہے جو مسلمان کی طرح ہے (بتاؤ وہ کون سادرخت ہے؟)“ لوگوں نے اپنی اپنی رائے پیش کی، میں نے کہنا چاہا کہ وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے لیکن پھر خود نبی ﷺ نے ہی فرمایا کہ وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Darkhton mein se ek darakht aisa hai jo musalman ki tarah hai (batao woh kaun sa darakht hai?)” Logon ne apni apni rai pesh ki, maine kehna chaha ki woh khajoor ka darakht hai lekin phir khud Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hi farmaya ki woh khajoor ka darakht hai.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:" إِنَّ مَثَلَ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَثَلُ شَجَرَةٍ لَا يَسْقُطُ وَرَقُهَا، فَمَا هِيَ؟" قَالَ: فَقَالُوا وَقَالُوا، فَلَمْ يُصِيبُوا، وَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ: هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ، فَاسْتَحْيَيْتُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ".
