Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4866
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The month is of 29 days." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gestured with both his hands, ten by ten, and while gesturing the third time, he closed his thumb. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) upon learning of this hadith, said: "May Allah forgive Abu 'Abdur-Rahman, he must have forgotten. Actually, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had stayed away from his wives for a month. On the 29th day, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came down from his upper chamber. People submitted, 'O Messenger of Allah! You have come down on the 29th day itself.' The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Sometimes the month is also of 29 days.'"

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”مہینہ ٢٩ دن کا ہوتا ہے نبی کریم ﷺ نے اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں سے دس دس کا اشارہ کیا اور تیسری مرتبہ اشارہ کرتے وقت انگوٹھا بند کر لیا، سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے یہ حدیث معلوم ہونے پر فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ ابوعبدالرحمن کی بخشش فرمائے انہیں وہم ہو گیا ہے دراصل نبی کریم ﷺ نے ایک مہینے کے لئے ازاواج مطہرات کو چھوڑ دیا تھا ٢٩ دن ہونے پر نبی کریم ﷺ اپنے بالاخانے سے نیچے آ گئے لوگوں نے عرض کیا، یا رسول اللہ! آپ تو ٢٩ ویں دن ہی نیچے آگئے، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”بعض اوقات مہینہ ٢٩ دن کا بھی ہوتا ہے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: “Mahina 29 din ka hota hai” Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apne donon hathon se das das ka ishara kiya aur teesri martaba ishara karte waqt ungootha band kar liya, Sayyida Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ne yeh hadees maloom hone par farmaya: Allah Ta’ala Abu-al-Rahman ki bakhshish farmaye unhen veham ho gaya hai darasal Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek mahine ke liye azwaj-e-mutahharat ko chhod diya tha 29 din hone par Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apne balakhanay se neeche aa gaye logon ne arz kiya, Ya Rasul Allah! Aap to 29ven din hi neeche aa gaye, Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Baaz auqaat mahina 29 din ka bhi hota hai”.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ، وَصَفَّقَ بِيَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ صَفَّقَ الثَّالِثَةَ، وَقَبَضَ إِبْهَامَهُ"، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، إِنَّهُ وَهِلَ، إِنَّمَا هَجَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِسَاءَهُ شَهْرًا، فَنَزَلَ لِتِسْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّكَ نَزَلَتْ لِتِسْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ! فَقَالَ:" إِنَّ الشَّهْرَ يَكُونُ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ".
