Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4881

Salem, may Allah have mercy on him, said that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, considered it undesirable to make a bet during Hajj and used to say, "Is the Sunnah of your Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, not enough for you? He did not make a bet either."

سالم رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما حج میں شرط لگانے کو مکروہ خیال کرتے تھے اور فرماتے تھے کہ کیا تمہارے لئے تمہارے نبی ﷺ کی سنت کافی نہیں ہے؟ کہ انہوں نے بھی شرط نہیں لگائی تھی۔

Salam rehmatullah kehte hain keh sayyidna ibn umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a hajj mein shart lagane ko makrooh khayaal karte thay aur farmate thay keh kya tumhare liye tumhare nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki sunnat kaafi nahi hai? keh unhon ne bhi shart nahi lagai thi.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ الِاشْتِرَاطَ فِي الْحَجِّ، وَيَقُولُ: أَمَا حَسْبُكُمْ بسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَشْتَرِطْ".
