Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4982
'Abdur Rahman bin Sa'd (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Once I was with Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). He used to offer voluntary prayers on his mount, facing whichever direction it was going. I once asked him about it, and he said, 'I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) doing so.'"

عبدالرحمن بن سعد رحمتہ اللہ علیہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے ساتھ تھا، وہ سواری پر نفل نماز پڑھ لیا کرتے تھے خواہ اس کا رخ کسی بھی سمت ہو میں نے ایک مرتبہ ان سے اس کے متعلق پوچھا، تو وہ فرمانے لگے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو اس طرح کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔
Abdulrehman bin Saad rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ki ek martaba main Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke sath tha, woh sawari par nafl namaz parh liya karte thay khawah is ka rukh kisi bhi simt ho main ne ek martaba un se is ke mutalliq poocha, to woh farmane lage ki main ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko is tarah karte huye dekha hai.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، فَكَانَ" يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ هَاهُنَا وَهَاهُنَا، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُ".
