Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5106
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever does not find shoes, then he should cut his socks below the ankles and wear them."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ جس شخص کو جوتے نہ ملیں اسے چاہئے کہ وہ موزوں کو ٹخنوں سے نیچے کاٹ کر پہن لے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki jis shakhs ko joote na milen use chahiye ki wo mozon ko takhnon se neeche kaat kar pehen le.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ، يَقْطَعُهُمَا حَتَّى يَكُونَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ".
