Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5158
It is narrated by Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The seller and the buyer have the option (to cancel the sale) until they separate, or it is a sale with the option to return."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”بائع (بچنے والا) اور مشتری (خریدنے والا اور بیچنے والا) کو اس وقت تک اختیار رہتا ہے جب تک وہ جدا نہ ہو جائیں یا یہ کہ وہ بیع خیار ہو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: "Bayi (bechne wala) aur mushtari (kharidne wala aur bechne wala) ko us waqt tak ikhtiyar rehta hai jab tak woh juda na ho jayen ya yeh ki woh bay khayar ho."
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:" كُلُّ بَيِّعَيْنِ فَأَحَدُهُمَا عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ بِالْخِيَارِ حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَا، أَوْ يَكُونَ خِيَارًا".
