Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5177
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a horse to a man to ride in the path of Allah. He had given this horse to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to give to someone to ride. Later, he found out that the horse was being sold in the market. He consulted the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about buying it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not buy it, and do not take back your charity."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فی سبیل اللہ کسی شخص کو سواری کے لئے گھوڑا دے دیا، وہ گھوڑا انہوں نے نبی ﷺ کے حوالے کیا تھا تاکہ وہ کسی کو سواری کے لئے دے دیں، بعد میں انہیں معلوم ہوا کہ وہ گھوڑا بازار میں بک رہا ہے، انہوں نے نبی ﷺ سے اسے خریدنے کا مشورہ کیا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ اسے مت خریدو اور اپنے صدقے سے رجوع مت کرو۔
Sayyida Ibn Umar Radi Allaho Anhuma se marvi hai keh aik martaba Sayyiduna Umar Radi Allaho Anhu ne fi sabilillah kisi shakhs ko sawari ke liye ghora de diya, woh ghora unhon ne Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ke hawale kiya tha taake woh kisi ko sawari ke liye de dein, baad mein unhen maloom huwa keh woh ghora bazaar mein bik raha hai, unhon ne Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam se ise kharidne ka mashwara kiya, Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya keh ise mat khareedo aur apne sadqe se rujoo mat karo.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ، فَأَعْطَاهَا عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَحْمِلَ عَلَيْهَا رَجُلًا، فَأُخْبِرَ عُمَرُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ وَقَفَهَا يَبِيعُهَا، قَالَ: فَسَأَلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَبْتَاعُهَا؟ قَالَ:" لَا تَبْتَعْهَا، وَلَا تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ".
