Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5249
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a ring of gold made and the people also made rings (of gold). Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) threw it away and said: “I shall never wear this.” The narrator says that then the people also took off their rings and threw them away.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے سونے کی انگوٹھی بنوائی، لوگوں نے بھی انگوٹھیاں بنوا لیں، جس پر نبی ﷺ نے اسے پھینک دیا اور فرمایا کہ آئندہ میں اسے کبھی نہیں پہنوں گا۔ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ پھر لوگوں نے بھی اپنی انگوٹھیاں اتار پھینکیں۔
Syedna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sone ki anguthi banwai, logon ne bhi anguthiyan banwa lein, jis par Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use phenk diya aur farmaya ki aenda mein ise kabhi nahin pehnoon ga. Ravi kehte hain ki phir logon ne bhi apni anguthiyan utar phenkin.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، وَيَزِيدُ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَرَمَى بِهِ، وَقَالَ:" لَنْ أَلْبَسَهُ أَبَدًا"، قَالَ يَزِيدُ: فَنَبَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ.
