Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5299
Nafi' reported that Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) divorced his wife when she was in her menses. 'Umar b. al-Khattab (Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about it, whereupon he commanded him ('Umar) to take her back and when she was purified from her menses (next time), and he had cohabited with her, he should keep her as long as Allah had ordained for her (to be kept), then if he wished he could divorce her before having sexual intercourse with her; and this was the procedure for divorce which Allah had prescribed for the Muslims.

نافع رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے اپنی بیوی کو ”ایام“ کی حالت میں ایک طلاق دے دی، سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی ﷺ سے یہ مسئلہ پوچھا تو نبی ﷺ نے حکم دیا کہ وہ رجوع کر لیں اور دوبارہ ”ایام“ آنے تک انتظار کریں اور ان سے ”پاکیزگی“حاصل ہونے تک رکے رہیں، پھر اپنی بیوی کے ”قریب“جانے سے پہلے اگر چاہیں تو اسے طلاق دے دیں، اور چاہیں تو اسے روک لیں یہی وہ طریقہ ہے جس کے مطابق اللہ نے مردوں کو اپنی بیویوں کو طلاق دینے کی رخصت دی ہے۔
Nafe rahmatullah alaih kehte hain ke aik martaba syedna ibn e umar razi Allah tala anhuma ne apni biwi ko "Ayaam" ki halat mein aik talaq de di, syedna umar razi Allah tala anh ne nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se ye masla poocha to nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hukum diya ke wo rujoo kar len aur dobara "Ayaam" aane tak intezar karen aur un se "Pakizgi" hasil hone tak ruke rahen, phir apni biwi ke "Qareeb" jane se pehle agar chahen to use talaq de den, aur chahen to use rok len yahi wo tareeqa hai jis ke mutabiq Allah ne mardon ko apni biwiyon ko talaq dene ki riayat di hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ، فَسَأَلَ عُمَرُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ:" مُرْهُ فَلْيُرَاجِعْهَا، ثُمَّ يُمْسِكْهَا حَتَّى تَطْهُرَ، ثُمَّ تَحِيضَ ثُمَّ تَطْهُرَ، ثُمَّ إِنْ شَاءَ طَلَّقَهَا، وَإِنْ شَاءَ أَمْسَكَهَا، فَتِلْكَ الْعِدَّةُ الَّتِي أَمَرَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يُطَلَّقَ لَهَا النِّسَاءُ".
