Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5336
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “It is forbidden to wear clothes dyed with saffron or wars during Muharram.” And he said: “If one does not find shoes during Muharram, then he should wear socks but cut off the portion below the ankles.”

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”محرم کو زعفران یا ورس سے رنگے ہوئے کپڑے پہننے سے منع کیا ہے اور ارشاد فرمایا: ”اگر محرم کو جوتے نہ ملیں تو وہ موزے ہی پہن لے لیکن ٹخنوں سے نیچے کا حصہ کاٹ لے۔“
Saina Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Muharram ko zaafran ya wars se range hue kapde pehenne se mana kya hai aur irshad farmaya: "Agar Muharram ko joote na milen to wo mozay hi pehen le lekin takhno se neeche ka hissa kaat le."
قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَلْبَسَ الْمُحْرِمُ ثَوْبًا مَصْبُوغًا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ أَوْ وَرْسٍ، وَقَالَ:" مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ، وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ".
