Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5427
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade wearing clothes dyed with saffron or wars during Muharram. And he said, "If one does not find shoes in Muharram, then he should wear socks but cut off the portion below the ankles."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے محرم کو زعفران یا ورس سے رنگے ہوئے کپڑے پہننے سے منع کیا ہے اور ارشاد فرمایا: ”اگر محرم کو جوتے نہ ملیں تو وہ موزے ہی پہن لے لیکن ٹخنوں سے نیچے کا حصہ کاٹ لے۔“
Saina Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne muharram ko zaafran ya wars se range hue kapre pehenne se mana kya hai aur irshad farmaya: ”Agar muharram ko joote na milen to wo moze hi pehen le lekin takhno se neeche ka hissa kaat le.”
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ يَلْبَسَ الْمُحْرِمُ ثَوْبًا صُبِغَ بِوَرْسٍ أَوْ زَعْفَرَانٍ، وَقَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ نَعْلَانِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ الْخُفَّيْنِ، وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ".
