Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5454
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (RA) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The night prayer is offered in units of two rak'ahs. When you fear the approach of dawn, then offer one rak'ah as witr."
Grade: Sahih
سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت پر مشتمل ہوتی ہے جب صبح ہو جانے کا اندیشہ ہو تو ان دو کے ساتھ بطور وتر کی ایک رکعت اور ملا لو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Raat ki namaz do do rakat par mushtamil hoti hai jab subah ho jaane ka andesha ho to in do ke sath ba طور witr ki ek rakat aur mila lo.”
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، وَنَافِعٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ، أن رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:" صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ رَكْعَتَانِ، فَإِذَا خِفْتُمْ الصُّبْحَ، فَأَوْتِرُوا بِوَاحِدَةٍ".
