Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5630
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) once appointed Sayyidina Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) as the commander of some people. The people objected to his leadership. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If you are objecting to his leadership, then this is not something new. You have objected to his father's leadership before this as well. And by Allah, he was most deserving of leadership and most beloved to me among the people. And now, his son is most beloved to me after him. Therefore, accept my advice to treat him well, for he is the best of companions for you."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ایک موقع پر سیدنا اسامہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہ کو کچھ لوگوں کا امیر مقرر کیا، لوگوں نے ان کی امارت پر اعتراض کیا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اگر تم اس کی امارت پر اعتراض کر رہے تو یہ کوئی نئی بات نہیں ہے، اس سے پہلے تم اس کے باپ کی امارت پر بھی اعتراض کر چکے ہو، حالانکہ، اللہ کی قسم! وہ امارت کا حقدار تھا اور لوگوں میں مجھے سب سے زیادہ محبوب تھا اور اب اس کا یہ بیٹا اس کے بعد مجھے سب سے زیادہ محبوب ہے، لہٰذا اس کے ساتھ اچھا معاملہ کرنے کی وصیت قبول کرو، کیونکہ یہ تمہارا بہترین ساتھی ہے۔“
Syedna Ibn Umar RA se marvi hai keh Nabi SAW ne ek mauqe par Syedna Usama bin Zaid RA ko kuch logon ka ameer muqarrar kiya, logon ne un ki amarten par aitraz kiya, Nabi SAW ne farmaya: "Agar tum us ki amarten par aitraz kar rahe ho to yeh koi nayi baat nahi hai, is se pehle tum us ke baap ki amarten par bhi aitraz kar chuke ho, halankeh, Allah ki qasam! Woh amarten ka haqdaar tha aur logon mein mujhe sab se zyada mehboob tha aur ab is ka yeh beta us ke baad mujhe sab se zyada mehboob hai, lihaza us ke sath acha muamla karne ki wasiyat qubool karo, kyunkeh yeh tumhara behtarin sathi hai.".
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ أَمَّرَ أُسَامَةَ، بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ النَّاسَ يَعِيبُونَ أُسَامَةَ وَيَطْعَنُونَ فِي إِمَارَتِهِ، فَقَامَ، كَمَا حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمٌ، فَقَالَ:" إِنَّكُمْ تَعِيبُونَ أُسَامَةَ وَتَطْعَنُونَ فِي إِمَارَتِهِ، وَقَدْ فَعَلْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فِي أَبِيهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ، وَإِنْ كَانَ لَخَلِيقًا لِلْإِمَارَةِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ لَأَحَبَّ النَّاسِ كُلِّهِمْ إِلَيَّ، وَإِنَّ ابْنَهُ هَذَا بَعْدَهُ مِنْ أَحَبِّ النَّاسِ إِلَيَّ، فَاسْتَوْصُوا بِهِ خَيْرًا، فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ خِيَارِكُمْ".
