Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5638
Salem, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Once a poet, in the presence of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, recited a verse in praise of his son, Bilal, saying that Bilal, the son of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, is better than every other Bilal. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, said to him: "You are wrong. This honor was only for Bilal, the companion of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him."

سالم رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ایک شاعر نے سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کی موجودگی میں ان کے صاحبزادے بلال کی تعریف میں یہ شعر کہا کہ سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کا بلال ہر بلال سے بہتر ہے، سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے اس سے فرمایا: تم غلط کہتے ہو یہ شان صرف نبی ﷺ کے بلال کی تھی۔
Salam rahmatullah kehte hain keh ek martaba ek shayar ne sayyidna ibn umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ki mojoodgi mein unke sahabzade bilal ki tareef mein yeh sher kaha keh sayyidna abdullah bin umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ka bilal har bilal se behtar hai, sayyidna ibn umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne us se farmaya: tum ghalat kehte ho yeh shaan sirf nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke bilal ki thi.
(حديث موقوف) قال عَبْد اللَّهِ بن أحمد: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ،" أَنَّ شَاعِرًا قَالَ عِنْدَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : وَبِلَالُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ خَيْرُ بِلَالِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: كَذَبْتَ، ذَاكَ بِلَالُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ".
