Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5663
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to lead the prayer on the occasion of both Eids before the sermon, and then after the prayer, he would deliver the sermon.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ عیدین کے موقع پر خطبہ سے پہلے نماز پڑھایا کرتے تھے پھر نماز کے بعد خطبہ دیتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ" يُصَلِّي الْعِيدَيْنِ: الْأَضْحَى وَالْفِطْرَ، ثُمَّ يَخْطُبُ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ".
