Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5679
It is narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that one day he was sitting with some of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came and said: “O people! Do you not know that I have been sent to you as the Messenger of Allah?” The people replied, “Why not, we bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do you not know that Allah Almighty has revealed in His Book a command of this nature that whoever obeys me, it is as if he has obeyed Allah?” The people said, “Why not, we bear witness that whoever obeys you obeys Allah. Your obedience is the obedience of Allah.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Then it is also part of Allah's obedience that you obey me, and it is part of my obedience that you obey your Imams (leaders). Obey your Imams, even if they pray sitting, then you too should pray sitting."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک دن وہ چند صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ نبی ﷺ تشریف لے آئے اور فرمایا: ”اے لوگو! کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ میں تمہاری طرف اللہ کا پیغمبر بن کر آیا ہوں؟“ لوگوں نے عرض کیا: کیوں نہیں، ہم اس بات کی گواہی دیتے ہیں کہ آپ اللہ کے پیغمبر ہیں، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنی کتاب میں اس نوعیت کا حکم نازل فرمایا ہے کہ جو میری اطاعت کرے گا گویا اس نے اللہ کی اطاعت کی؟“ لوگوں نے عرض کیا، کیوں نہیں، ہم اس بات کی گواہی دیتے ہیں کہ جو شخص آپ کی اطاعت کرتا ہے وہ اللہ کی اطاعت کرتا ہے، آپ کی اطاعت اللہ ہی کی اطاعت ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”پھر یہ بھی اللہ کی اطاعت کا حصہ ہے کہ تم میری اطاعت کرو اور یہ میری اطاعت کا حصہ ہے کہ تم اپنے ائمہ کی اطاعت کرو، اپنے ائمہ کی اطاعت کیا کرو، اگر وہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھیں تو تم بھی بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek din wo chand Sahaba Kiram (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke sath baithe huye thy ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) tashrif le aaye aur farmaya: “Aye logo! Kya tum nahi jante ki main tumhari taraf Allah ka paighambar ban kar aaya hun?” Logon ne arz kiya: Kyon nahi, hum is baat ki gawahi dete hain ki aap Allah ke paighambar hain, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Kya tum nahi jante ki Allah Ta'ala ne apni kitab mein is noiyat ka hukm nazil farmaya hai ki jo meri itaat karega goya is ne Allah ki itaat ki?” Logon ne arz kiya, kyon nahi, hum is baat ki gawahi dete hain ki jo shakhs aap ki itaat karta hai wo Allah ki itaat karta hai, aap ki itaat Allah hi ki itaat hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Phir yah bhi Allah ki itaat ka hissa hai ki tum meri itaat karo aur yah meri itaat ka hissa hai ki tum apne aaima ki itaat karo, apne aaima ki itaat kya karo, agar wo baith kar namaz parhen to tum bhi baith kar namaz parho.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي الصَّهْبَاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا هَؤُلَاءِ،" أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ؟" قَالُوا: بَلَى، نَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ:" أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنْزَلَ فِي كِتَابِهِ مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ؟" قَالُوا: بَلَى، نَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ مَنْ أَطَاعَكَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ، وَأَنَّ مِنْ طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ طَاعَتَكَ، قَالَ:" فَإِنَّ مِنْ طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ أَنْ تُطِيعُونِي وَإِنَّ مِنْ طَاعَتِي أَنْ تُطِيعُوا أَئِمَّتَكُمْ، أَطِيعُوا أَئِمَّتَكُمْ، فَإِنْ صَلَّوْا قُعُودًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا".
