Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5691
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that I estimated that for an entire month the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited Surah Al-Kafirun and Surah Al-Ikhlas in the two rak'ahs (Sunnah) before Fajr.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے پورا مہینہ یہ اندازہ لگایا کہ نبی ﷺ فجر سے پہلے کی دو رکعتوں (سنتوں) میں سورہ کافروں اور سورہ اخلاص پڑھتے رہے ہیں۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik martaba maine poora maheena yeh andaza lagaya ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) fajar se pehle ki do rakaton (sunto) mein Surah Kafiroon aur Surah Ikhlas parhte rahe hain.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: رَمَقْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهْرًا، فَكَانَ" يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ، وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ.
