Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5728
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said in a sermon: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand, the upper hand being the one that spends and the lower hand being the one that begs.”

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے خطبہ دیتے ہوئے ارشاد فرمایا: ”اوپر والا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہوتا ہے، اوپر والے ہاتھ سے مراد خرچ کرنے والا اور نیچے والے ہاتھ سے مراد مانگنے والا ہاتھ ہے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne khutba dete hue irshad farmaya: "Upar wala hath neeche wale hath se behtar hota hai, upar wale hath se murad kharch karne wala aur neeche wale hath se murad mangne wala hath hai."
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ:" الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى، الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا الْمُعْطِيَةُ، وَالْيَدُ السُّفْلَى , يَدُ السَّائِلِ".
