Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5727
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Umar Radi Allahu Anhu that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم gifted him a silk garment and gifted Sayyidina Usama Radi Allahu Anhu a linen garment. Then the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم looked at me, and the garment was dragging on the ground. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم moved forward, held my shoulder, and said, "O Ibn Umar! The part of the garment that touches the ground will be in Hellfire." The narrator says that after that, I saw Sayyidina Ibn Umar Radi Allahu Anhu wearing his lower garment up to half of his shins.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے انہیں ایک ریشمی جوڑا دیا اور سیدنا اسامہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو کتان کا جوڑا عطاء فرمایا، پھر نبی ﷺ نے مجھے دیکھا تو وہ کپڑا زمین پر لٹک رہا تھا، نبی ﷺ نے آگے بڑھ کر میرے کندھے کو پکڑا اور فرمایا: ”اے ابن عمر! کپڑے کا جو حصہ زمین پر لگے کا وہ جہنم میں ہو گا۔“ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ پھر میں نے سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کو دیکھا کہ وہ نصف پنڈلی تک تہبند باندھتے تھے۔
Sayyeda Ibne Umar RA se marvi hai ke Nabi SAW ne unhen aik reshmi joda diya aur Sayyeda Usama RA ko katan ka joda ata farmaya, phir Nabi SAW ne mujhe dekha to wo kapda zameen par latak raha tha, Nabi SAW ne aage badh kar mere kandhe ko pakda aur farmaya: "Aye Ibne Umar! kapde ka jo hissa zameen par lage ga wo jahannam mein ho ga." حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ , يَقُولُ: كَسَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُبْطِيَّةً، وَكَسَا أُسَامَةَ حُلَّةً سِيَرَاءَ، قَالَ: فَنَظَرَ فَرَآنِي قَدْ أَسْبَلْتُ، فَجَاءَ فَأَخَذَ بِمَنْكِبِي، وَقَالَ:" يَا ابْنَ عُمَرَ، كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَسَّ الْأَرْضَ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ، فَفِي النَّارِ"، قَالَ: فَرَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَتَّزِرُ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ.
