Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5734
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the occasion of both Eids, a spear used to be carried with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) during travel. It would be planted in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he would lead the prayer facing towards it.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ عیدین کے موقع پر دوران سفر نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ ایک نیزہ بھی لے جایا جاتا تھا، جو نبی ﷺ کے سامنے گاڑا جاتا تھا اور اسے سترہ بنا کر نبی ﷺ نماز پڑھاتے تھے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Eidain ke mauqe par dauran safar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath ek neza bhi lejaya jata tha, jo Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke samne gadha jata tha aur use satrah bana kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz parhate the.
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هُرَيْمٌ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ:" كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ تُحْمَلُ مَعَهُ الْعَنَزَةُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ فِي أَسْفَارِهِ، فَتُرْكَزُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، فَيُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا".
