Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5742
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once for 24 or 25 days I noticed that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would recite Surah Al-Kafirun and Surah Al-Ikhlas in the two rak'ahs (Sunnah) before Fajr and after Maghrib.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے 24 یا 25 دن تک یہ اندازہ لگایا کہ نبی ﷺ فجر سے پہلے کی اور مغرب کے بعد کی دو رکعتوں (سنتوں) میں سورہ کافروں اور سورہ اخلاص پڑھتے رہے ہیں۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba maine 24 ya 25 din tak yeh andaza lagaya ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Fajar se pehle ki aur Maghrib ke bad ki do rakaton (Sunto) mein Surah Kafiroon aur Surah Ikhlas padhte rahe hain.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: رَمَقْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعًا وَعِشْرِينَ، أَوْ خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ مَرَّةً:" يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ , وَالرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ ب قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ، وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ".
