Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5752
Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), that once we were facing the enemy, and the people began to flee in fear during the battle. I was among them. We arrived in Madinah, and when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out for prayer, we presented ourselves before him. We said, "O Messenger of Allah! We are the ones who fled." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "No, rather, you are the ones who will return to fight. I am a part of your group."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ہمارا دشمن سے آمنا سامنا ہوا، لوگ دوران جنگ گھبرا کر بھاگنے لگے، ان میں میں بھی شامل تھا، ہم مدینہ منورہ حاضر ہوئے اور جب نبی ﷺ نماز کے لئے باہر نکلے تو ہم نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو گئے اور ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہم فرار ہو کر بھاگنے والے ہیں، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں، بلکہ تم پلٹ کر حملہ کر نے والے ہو، میں تمہاری ایک جماعت ہوں۔“
Seyedna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik martaba hamara dushman se aamna samna hua, log doran jang ghabra kar bhagne lage, in mein main bhi shamil tha, hum Madina Munawara hazir hue aur jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz ke liye bahar nikle to hum Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir ho gaye aur hum ne arz kiya: Ya Rasulullah! Hum firar ho kar bhagne wale hain, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Nahin, balki tum palat kar hamla karne wale ho, main tumhari ek jamaat hun."
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي الطَّحَّانَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: لَقِينَا الْعَدُوَّ، فَحَاصَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ حَيْصَةً، فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ حَاصَ، فَدَخَلْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ، قَالَ: فَتَعَرَّضْنَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ خَرَجَ لِلصَّلَاةِ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، نَحْنُ الْفَرَّارُونَ، قَالَ:" لَا، بَلْ أَنْتُمْ الْعَكَّارُونَ، إِنِّي فِئَةٌ لَكُمْ".
