Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5790
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The example of a hypocrite is like that of a goat that grazes between two flocks, sometimes going to one flock and sometimes to the other, not knowing with which flock it should stay."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا:”منافق کی مثال اس بکری کی سی ہے جو دو ریوڑوں کے درمیان ہو، کبھی اس ریوڑ کے پاس جائے اور کبھی اس ریوڑ کے پاس اسے یہ اندازہ نہ ہو کہ وہ ان میں سے کسی ریوڑ کے ساتھ جائے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: "Munafiq ki misaal us bakri ki si hai jo do reydon ke darmiyaan ho, kabhi is reyd ke paas jaye aur kabhi us reyd ke paas use ye andaza na ho ki woh in mein se kisi reyd ke sath jaye."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:" إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ مَثَلُ الشَّاةِ الْعَائِرَةِ بَيْنَ الْغَنَمَيْنِ، تَعِيرُ إِلَى هَذِهِ مَرَّةً، وَإِلَى هَذِهِ مَرَّةً، لَا تَدْرِي أَيَّهُمَا تَتْبَعُ".
