Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5792
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he divorced his wife during her menses. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about this matter. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered him to take her back and wait for her next menses. When she was clean, he was to wait until her next menses had finished and she was again in a state of purity, then he could either keep her or divorce her before having intercourse with her. This is the guidance of Allah for those who intend to divorce their wives.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے اپنی بیوی کو ”ایام“کی حالت میں ایک طلاق دے دی، سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی ﷺ سے یہ مسئلہ پوچھا، تو نبی ﷺ نے حکم دیا کہ وہ رجوع کر لیں اور دوبارہ ”ایام“ آنے تک انتظار کر یں اور ان سے ”پاکیزگی“حاصل ہونے تک رکے رہیں، پھر اپنی بیوی کے ”قریب“جانے سے پہلے اسے طلاق دے دیں یا روک لیں، یہی وہ طریقہ ہے جس کے مطابق اللہ نے مردوں کو اپنی بیویوں کو طلاق دینے کی رخصت دی ہے۔
Syedna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ke ek martaba maine apni biwi ko "ayyam" ki halat mein ek talaq de di, Syedna Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se yeh masla poocha, to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hukum diya ke woh ruju kar lein aur dobara "ayyam" aane tak intezar karen aur un se "paakizgi" hasil hone tak ruke rahen, phir apni biwi ke "qareeb" jaane se pehle use talaq de den ya rok len, yahi woh tareeqa hai jis ke mutabiq Allah ne mardon ko apni biwion ko talaq dene ki rukhsat di hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ:" مُرْهُ فَلْيُرَاجِعْهَا حَتَّى تَطْهُرَ، ثُمَّ تَحِيضَ أُخْرَى، فَإِذَا طَهُرَتْ يُطَلِّقُهَا إِنْ شَاءَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُجَامِعَهَا، أَوْ يُمْسِكَهَا، فَإِنَّهَا الْعِدَّةُ الَّتِي أَمَرَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تُطَلَّقَ لَهَا النِّسَاءُ".
