Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5819
Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I once heard Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saying that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade alcoholic drink made in earthenware pots. I went to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Are you not surprised at Abu Abdur Rahman (Ibn Umar)? He thinks that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade alcoholic drink made in earthenware pots." Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "He is right; the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did forbid it." I asked: "What does 'earthenware pots' mean?" He said: "Everything that is made from baked clay."

سعید بن جبیر رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ انہوں نے سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ مٹکے کی نبیذ کو نبی ﷺ نے حرام قرار دیا ہے، میں سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس آیا اور ان سے عرض کیا کہ آپ کو ابو عبدالرحمن پر تعجب نہیں ہوتا، ان کا خیال ہے کہ مٹکے کی نبیذ کو تو انہوں نے نبی ﷺ نے حرام قرار دیا ہے، سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا: انہوں نے سچ کہا، نبی ﷺ نے اسے حرام قرار دیا ہے میں نے پوچھا ”مٹکے“سے کیا مراد ہے؟ فرمایا: ہر وہ چیز جو پکی مٹی سے بنائی جائے۔
Saeed bin Jubair rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ki ek martaba unhon ne Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ko ye farmate huye suna ki matke ki nabiz ko Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne haram qarar diya hai, main Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke paas aaya aur unse arz kiya ki aap ko Abu Abdur Rahman par taajjub nahin hota, unka khayal hai ki matke ki nabiz ko to unhon ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne haram qarar diya hai, Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne farmaya: unhon ne sach kaha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ise haram qarar diya hai maine poocha “matke” se kya muraad hai? Farmaya: har woh cheez jo paki mitti se banai jaye.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَعْلَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ:" حَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيذَ الْجَرِّ"، قَالَ: فَلَقِيتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، فَقُلْتُ: أَلَا تَعْجَبُ مِنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، يَزْعُمُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّمَ نَبِيذَ الْجَرِّ! فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : صَدَقَ، فَقُلْتُ: وَمَا الْجَرُّ؟ قَالَ: مَا يُصْنَعُ مِنَ الْمَدَرِ.
