Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5827
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the people were offering Fajr prayer in Masjid Quba. Meanwhile, a man came and said: "Tonight, the Quran has been revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in which he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has been commanded to face the Kaaba during prayer." Hearing this, the people turned towards the Kaaba during their prayer.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ لوگ مسجد قباء میں صبح کی نماز پڑھ رہے تھے، اسی دوران ایک شخص آیا اور کہنے لگا کہ آج کی رات نبی ﷺ پر قرآن نازل ہوا ہے جس میں آپ ﷺ کو نماز میں خانہ کعبہ کی طرف رخ کر نے کا حکم دیا گیا ہے، یہ سنتے ہی ان لوگوں نے نماز کے دوران ہی گھوم کر خانہ کعبہ کی طرف اپنا رخ کر لیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki log Masjid Quba mein subah ki namaz parh rahe the, isi dauran ek shakhs aaya aur kahne laga ki aaj ki raat Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) par Quran nazil hua hai jis mein aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko namaz mein Khanah Kaaba ki taraf rukh karne ka hukum diya gaya hai, yeh sunte hi in logon ne namaz ke dauran hi ghoom kar Khanah Kaaba ki taraf apna rukh kar liya.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا النَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ فِي مَسْجِدِ قُبَاءَ، إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ: إِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" قَدْ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ قُرْآنٌ، وَقَدْ أُمِرَ أَنْ يَتَوَجَّهَ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ"، قَالَ: فَاسْتَدَارُوا.
