Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5851
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a ring of gold made for himself. The people also had rings of gold made for themselves. One day the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and said, "I used to wear this ring." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took it off and threw it away, and the people threw away their rings too.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے سونے کی انگوٹھی بنوائی لوگوں نے بھی سونے کی انگوٹھیاں بنوا لیں ایک دن نبی ﷺ کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا: ”میں یہ انگوٹھی پہنتا تھا“، پھر نبی ﷺ نے اسے پھینک دیا اور لوگوں نے بھی اپنی انگوٹھیاں پھینک دیں۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sone ki anguthi banwai logon ne bhi sone ki anguthiyan banwa lein aik din Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) khade hue aur farmaya main yeh anguthi pehenta tha phir Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use phenk diya aur logon ne bhi apni anguthiyan phenk dein.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِمَهُمْ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَقَامَ يَوْمًا، فَقَالَ:" إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَلْبَسُ هَذَا الْخَاتَمَ"، ثُمَّ نَبَذَهُ، فَنَبَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ.
