Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5884
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that initially, there were fifty prayers, the command for ritual bath after sexual impurity was seven times, and in case of urine getting on clothes, the command was to wash it seven times. Due to the continuous supplication of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the number of prayers was reduced to five, the ritual bath after sexual impurity was reduced to one time, and washing clothes soiled with urine was also ordained to be done once.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ابتداء نمازیں پچاس تھیں، غسل جنابت سات مرتبہ کرنے کا حکم تھا اور کپڑے پر پیشاب لگ جانے کی صورت میں اسے سات مرتبہ دھونے کا حکم تھا، نبی ﷺ کی مسلسل درخواست پر نمازوں کی تعداد پانچ رہ گئی، غسل جنابت بھی ایک مرتبہ رہ گیا اور پیشاب زدہ کپڑے کو دھونا بھی ایک مرتبہ قرار دے دیا گیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ibtida namazen pichas thi, ghusl janabat saat martaba karne ka hukum tha aur kapde par peshab lag jane ki soorat mein usay saat martaba dhone ka hukum tha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki musalsal darkhwast par namazon ki tadad panch reh gayi, ghusl janabat bhi ek martaba reh gaya aur peshab zada kapde ko dhona bhi ek martaba karar de diya gaya.
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عِصْمَةَ , عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ:" كَانَتْ الصَّلَاةُ خَمْسِينَ، وَالْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ سَبْعَ مِرَارٍ، وَالْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ سَبْعَ مِرَارٍ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْأَلُ، حَتَّى جُعِلَتْ الصَّلَاةُ خَمْسًا، وَالْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ مَرَّةً، وَالْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ مَرَّةً".
