Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5906
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that if a Muhrim (person in the state of Ihram) does not find shoes, then he should wear socks, but he should cut them below the ankles.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کو یہ ارشاد فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ اگر محرم کو جوتے نہ ملیں تو وہ موزے ہی پہن لے لیکن ٹخنوں سے نیچے کا حصہ کاٹ لے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye irshad farmate hue suna hai ki agar muharram ko joote na milen to wo moze hi pehen le lekin takhnon se neeche ka hissa kaat le.
حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ:" إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدْ الْمُحْرِمُ النَّعْلَيْنِ، فَلْيَلْبِسْ الْخُفَّيْنِ، يَقْطَعُهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ".
