Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5966
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) after the Asr prayer, while the sun was still over Mount Quaiquan. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The lifespan of your Ummah (nation) compared to the lifespans of the previous nations is like this remaining part of the day compared to the part that has already passed - very little."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ نبی ﷺ کے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے تھے، نماز عصر کے بعد سورج ابھی جبل قعیقعان پر تھا، نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”گزشتہ امتوں کی عمروں کے مقابلے میں تمہاری عمریں ایسی ہیں جیسے دن کا یہ باقی حصہ کہ گزشتہ حصے کی نسبت بہت تھوڑا ہے۔“
Saina Ibn Umar Radi Allaho Anhuma se marvi hai ki aik martaba hum log Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ke pas baithe hue the, namaz asar ke bad suraj abhi Jabal Quaiquan par tha, Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne irshad farmaya: Guzishta ummaton ki umron ke muqable mein tumhari umrein aisi hain jaise din ka ye baqi hissa ke guzishta hisse ki nisbat bahut thora hai.
حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، سَمِعْتُ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ كُهَيْلٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَالشَّمْسُ عَلَى قُعَيْقِعَانَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ، فَقَالَ:" مَا أَعْمَارُكُمْ فِي أَعْمَارِ مَنْ مَضَى، إِلَّا كَمَا بَقِيَ مِنَ النَّهَارِ فِيمَا مَضَى مِنْهُ".
