Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6000
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that when Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would sit in prayer, he would place both his hands on his knees and point with his finger, fixing his gaze upon it. Then, he would say that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The index finger, when pointing in testimony of faith, is harder on Satan than iron."

نافع رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما جب نماز میں بیٹھتے تھے تو اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں کو اپنے گھٹنوں پر رکھ لیتے اور اپنی انگلی سے اشارہ کرتے اور اس پر اپنی نگاہیں جما دیتے، پھر فرماتے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: شہادت والی انگلی شیطان کے لئے لوہے سے بھی زیادہ سخت ثابت ہوتی ہے۔
Nafi rahimahullah kahte hain ki Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a jab namaz mein baithte the to apne donon hathon ko apne ghutnon par rakh lete aur apni ungli se ishara karte aur is par apni nigahein jama dete, phir farmate ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: Shahadat wali ungli shaitan ke liye lohe se bhi ziada sakht sabit hoti hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ , إِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ، وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ، وَأَتْبَعَهَا بَصَرَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" لَهِيَ أَشَدُّ عَلَى الشَّيْطَانِ مِنَ الْحَدِيدِ"، يَعْنِي السَّبَّابَةَ.
