Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6039
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) said: "This is why I do not ask Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) or anyone else for anything."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو یہ ارشاد فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ اوپر والا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہوتا ہے، سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ اسی وجہ سے میں سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ یا کسی بھی آدمی سے کچھ نہیں مانگتا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki maine Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye irshad farmate huye suna hai ki upar wala hath niche wale hath se behtar hota hai, Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a farmate hain ki isi wajah se main Sayyidna Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ya kisi bhi aadmi se kuchh nahin mangta.
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ:" الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى"، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: فَلَمْ أَسْأَلْ عُمَرَ فَمَنْ سِوَاهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ.
