Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6096
Zaid bin Aslam (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to dye his clothes and apply saffron oil. Someone asked him, "Why do you dye your clothes with saffron?" He replied, "I have seen that saffron oil was the most beloved of the things that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to dye himself with. He used to apply its oil and dye his clothes with it."

زید بن اسلم رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما اپنے کپڑوں کو رنگتے تھے اور زعفران کا تیل لگاتے تھے کسی نے ان سے پوچھا کہ آپ اپنے کپڑوں کو زعفران سے کیوں رنگتے ہیں؟ تو انہوں نے فرمایا: کہ میں نے دیکھا ہے کہ زعفران کا تیل نبی ﷺ کو رنگے جانے کی چیزوں میں سب سے زیادہ پسندیدہ تھا اسی کا تیل لگاتے تھے اور اس سے کپڑوں کو رنگتے تھے۔
Zaid bin Aslam rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a apne kapdon ko rangte thay aur zaffran ka tel lagate thay kisi ne un se poocha ke aap apne kapdon ko zaffran se kyon rangte hain to unhon ne farmaya ke maine dekha hai ke zaffran ka tel Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko rangay janay ki cheezon mein sab se zyada pasandida tha isi ka tel lagate thay aur is se kapdon ko rangte thay.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَصْبُغُ ثِيَابَهُ وَيَدَّهِنُ بِالزَّعْفَرَانِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: لِمَ تَصْبُغُ هَذَا بِالزَّعْفَرَانِ؟ قَالَ: لِأَنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ أَحَبَّ الْأَصْبَاغِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" يَدَّهِنُ وَيَصْبُغُ بِهِ ثِيَابَهُ".
