Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6100
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No person should let three nights pass without having his will written with him." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Since that day, no night has passed over me except that my will is written with me."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: کسی شخص پر تین راتیں اس طرح نہیں گزرنی چاہئیں کہ اس کی وصیت اس کی پاس لکھی ہوئی نہ ہو سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ اس دن کے بعد سے اب تک میری کوئی ایسی رات نہیں گزری جس میں میرے پاس میری وصیت لکھی ہوئی نہ ہو۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: Kisi shakhs par teen raaten is tarah nahin guzarni chahiyen ki uski wasiyat uski paas likhi hui na ho Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a farmate hain ki us din ke baad se ab tak meri koi aisi raat nahin guzri jis mein mere paas meri wasiyat likhi hui na ho.
حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ مَالٌ يُوصَى فِيهِ يَبِيتُ ثَلَاثًا إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ"، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: فَمَا بِتُّ لَيْلَةً مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهَا إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتِي عِنْدِي مَكْتُوبَةٌ.
